1. PANS & TILTS

Panning simply means moving your camera from left to right. This allows a frame to show a feeling of movement or speed. Panning is as fast and as furious as you can get with this artistic medium. Secondly, tilts are like pans, but up and down. They are a great way to bring your subject into the scene. Start at the sky or on the top of a building, and tilt down to your subject as they walk out into the world. The possibilities are truly endless.


2. TRACKING

Subject tracking means keeping the subject in frame while simultaneously moving the camera. Follow your subject through an alleyway or a hallway as they walk. Record this type of shot in slow motion for an added dramatic effect! Try this by following your subject’s feet as they walk down a trail. Follow your friend at eye level as they admire the scenery around them. Follow shots or tracking shots can add a ton of value to your video.

3. ZOOM

Zooms come in a variety pack; fast for funny, slow for dramatic. Have you ever seen “The Office”? They use tons of hilarious fast zooms to create a good chuckle. A slow zoom can be hard to achieve with a phone, but with practice comes clean and professionally graded vibes. The slow zoom is a great way to show off landscapes or subjects that are far away by slowly bringing them into focus. Great to use if you additionally wish to illustrate a scene in which the subject is contemplating their next move, or deep in thought.

4. TRY A GIMBAL

While you probably won’t need to learn about the various aspects of aerial photography to benefit from its use, understanding about them could help you choose which option you want. It is always helpful to know a little information about what you want from others, to ensure that you sound knowledgeable and can help them determine the best needs for you. Technical terminology isn’t usually hard to learn, and can help make sure there aren’t any misconceptions.

Oblique (High and Low)

Any of the oblique aspects is common. The oblique version is shown while at an angle to the ground, so it is not directly overhead. If you ask for oblique, you’ll be requested to elaborate, because there are high, low, wide or close-up versions. High Oblique options include some of the horizon (skyline) while low oblique options do not.

Near Vertical

Near vertical photography means that the camera is positioned almost vertically though it’s not considered a perfect measurement. They can be used to see the general area of the land for redesigning and planning purposes. Special cameras aren’t needed, but aircraft must be adapted to get a clear shot.

True Vertical

True vertical options are exactly 90 degrees down from the centre point and usually require specialty cameras and many measurements and planning. This option gives a map-like perspective that can be scaled as a regular map.

Wide

The wide-shot is part of the oblique version and can be used to show the subject with its surroundings. This can work well if you want to get all the roadways in and around your business, to help make it easier to find you. While most wide-shots are oliques, they can also be near-verticals.

Close-Up

The close-up option is taken close so that what you want to be pictured fills the frame or fills it as much as possible. They can be used to capture more details or to create impact. If you are going to use a close-up, it works best to know ahead of time. While you can enlarge other options, the results won’t be as precise.

Panorama

A panorama typically means a very big wide shot, which includes the horizon and a larger area. They are usually created by taking up to eight single shots and then using computer software to stitch them together seamlessly. You can have a regular panorama and a 360-degree panorama view.

My curiosity with HDR imaging was among the new motivation that I made in taking pictures and exploring the essence of photography; tone, contrast, range, etc. Softwares for imaging development that I used for free: easyHDR Basic2 and Fusion. Differentiate the results below.

Sample Photos:

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range imaging, and it's an old photography practice recently introduced to cameraphones like the iPhone and some Android devices (or with the use of special apps). You're on the right track: it's supposed to make your pictures look better, but it depends on when you use it. Here's a quick primer on how HDR works, and when you should—and shouldn't—turn it on.

HDR, as its name implies, is a method that aims to add more "dynamic range" to photographs, where dynamic range is the ratio of light to dark in a photograph. Instead of just taking one photo, HDR uses three photos, taken at different exposures. You can then use image editing software to put those three images together and highlight the best parts of each photo. In the case of HDR on smartphones, your phone does all the work for you—just snap your picture and it'll spit out one regular photo and one HDR photo. The result is something that should look more like what your eyes see, rather than what your camera sees.

This is why, when you turn HDR mode on, your phone takes a little longer to take the photo. It's actually taking three pictures, rather than just one. Check out the image above for an example. When You Should Use HDR

As we said, HDR is designed to help you take better-looking photos, especially in certain situations. Here's where you should try using HDR:

Landscapes: Big landscape photos usually have a lot of contrast between the sky and land, which is difficult for your camera to deal with in just one photo. With HDR, you can capture the sky's detail without making the land look too dark, and vice versa.

Portraits in Sunlight: We all know that lighting is one of the most important aspects of a good photo, but too much lighting on someone's face—like harsh sunlight—can cause dark shadows, bright glare, and other unflattering characteristics. HDR can even that all out and make your subject look better.

Low-Light and Backlit Scenes (see above): If your photo is looking a little too dark—which often happens if your scene has too much backlight—HDR can brighten up the foreground without washing out the well-lit portions of your photo.

When You Shouldn't Use HDR

Of course, as you've discovered, sometimes HDR actually makes your pictures look worse. Here are some situations in which HDR is better off ignored:

Photos with Movement: If any of your subjects are moving (or might move), HDR increases the chance of a blurry photo. Remember, HDR takes three pictures, so if your subject moves between the first and second shot, your final picture won't look very good.

High-Contrast Scenes: Some photos look better with stark contrast between the dark and light parts of the photo, like if you have a dark shadow or silhouette you want to highlight. HDR will make this less intense, resulting in a less interesting photo.
Vivid Colors: If your scene is too dark or too light, HDR can bring some of the color back. However, if you're dealing with colors that are already very vivid, HDR can wash them out.

Luckily, most HDR cameraphones will give you two images: one with HDR turned off, and one with it turned on. That means that you can always give HDR a shot and see what the comparison looks like before turning it off altogether (as long as you have time to sit through the extra few seconds of photo-taking). As with all things photography, you can't go wrong experimenting! These guidelines should help you out, but don't be afraid to snap a few photos and look at them later. One of the digital photography tricks worth using is your SLR's Live View mode. Here you can set up your photo on the LCD monitor, rather than the viewfinder. One advantage to using this is the number of viewpoints you can use, for example, holding the camera above a crowd of people, and still being able to get an idea of what the final image will look like. Many people believe that it is easier to see the final composition by using Live View as opposed to the viewfinder.
Once upon a time, ISO was determined by the film you used. That is to say that you would be forced to stay with, for example, ISO 200 for all 36 shots if that was the film in the camera.

However, with digital photography, you can adjust ISO for every picture you take, if necessary. Generally, an ISO setting of 640 or above can start to show some noise in your image. You need to consider the trade off between upping the ISO to allow shots in dark conditions, and accepting some noise, or missing the image altogether. In most cases, the auto ISO setting would work sufficiently.

Multi-Resolution

Loading very large images, e.g. at Gigapixel size, at once is not possible today - the loading would take ages and the memory need that would be need to display the image would be much to much for a web application. To solve this problem krpano supports a tiled Multi-Resolution loading - the large images will be resampled to several resolution levels and each level will be split up into many small tiles. And these small tiles will be loaded piece by piece and only when needed. This makes is possible to view also very large images quick and fast and with a few memory need.

Multi-Resolution images can be generated automatically by using the krpano Tools.

This panorama has a resolution of 24576x12288 pixel (about 302 megapixels). To display such a large panoramic image your computer would need about 1.2 gigabytes of available memory only for the panoramic image itself.
How was this calculated? 1 pixel needs 4 bytes - is thus 24576 * 12288 * 4 = 1,207,959,552 bytes! In addition, approximately 17 MB will be required to be downloaded. (this is the filesize of the panorama image compressed as JPEG image).

That would obviously be too much for an average computer to handle. The solution is to split the high resolution Panorama image into many small parts. These parts only load into the player as necessary (as the user zooms in).
(In this example, the image is split into smaller pieces of 1024x1024 pixels in size)

So, it is now possible to view the whole panorama without loading everything at once. However, there is still a problem - depending on the angle of view - when there are very many parts visible at once, again many split images need to be loaded, and again a lot of memory is needed for this.

This problem is solved by using multiple image resolutions of the panorama. Depending on the zoom level and angle of view, only the parts that best matching resolution are loaded. This means large amounts of data are never loaded simultaniously, and therefore less memory is needed.
If the view changes, parts that have already been loaded but are no longer needed, will remain available. Only when the memory limit (memory.maxmem) is reached, the not required image parts will be released from memory. If these parts are needed again later, they must be re-loaded.


3D Projections

The krpano Flash viewer supports several ways for projecting the pano image on the screen:
The normal or also called Rectilinear Projection.

Fisheye Projection.

Stereographic Fisheye Projection (when looking down also called 'Little Planet View').
Pannini Projection (Cylindrical Fisheye / Stereographic).

Architectural Projection.

Every of these projection modes can be adjusted by several parameters in fine steps. Mixing and / or fading between the different projection modes is also possible.

For example - a pano can start in with a 'Little Planet View' (a Stereographic Fisheye Projection) and then transit smoothly to the normal projection.


Virtual Tours / Hotspots / Scripting

By linking several panos together, e.g. by Hotspots, Maps, Thumbnails, Select Boxes or any other custom actions, it is possible to build full featured virtual tours.
